How to see Visions and hear God’s voice and Commit yourself to Him?

Isa 6:1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple.

Isa 6:2 Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying.

Isa 6:3 And they were calling to one another: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory."

Isa 6:4 At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.

Isa 6:5 "Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty."

Isa 6:6 Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar.

Isa 6:7 With it he touched my mouth and said, "See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for."

Isa 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"

Dear friends,

The Prophet Isaiah was able to see the glory of God and hear the voice of God. Only after the death of the King Uzziah (Isa 6:1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the temple.) Why after the death of the King? Were there any valid reasons?

The Bible says the king Uzziah’s spiritual life in the beginning was very good in 2 Chr 26:4 "He did what was right in the eyes of the LORD" but he failed to conclude his spiritual life in the same way before God. It is clearly given in 2 Chr 26:16 to 21. "But after Uzziah became powerful, his pride led to his downfall. In James 4:6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble" and in Prov 18:12 "Before his downfall a man's heart is proud, but humility comes before honor". "He was unfaithful to the LORD his God, and entered the temple of the LORD to burn incense on the altar of incense. Azariah the priest with eighty other courageous priests of the LORD followed him in. They confronted him and said, "It is not right for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the LORD. That is for the priests, the descendants of Aaron, who have been consecrated to burn incense. Leave the sanctuary, for you have been unfaithful; and you will not be honored by the LORD God." Uzziah, who had a censer in his hand ready to burn incense, became angry. While he was raging at the priests in their presence before the incense altar in the Lord's temple, leprosy broke out on his forehead. When Azariah the chief priest and all the other priests looked at him, they saw that he had leprosy on his forehead, so they hurried him out. Indeed, he himself was eager to leave, because the LORD had afflicted him. King Uzziah had leprosy until the day he died. He lived in a separate house - leprous, and excluded from the temple of the LORD. Jotham his son had charge of the palace and governed the people of the land".

Having the heavenly visions of God and His glory:

Some how this Prophet Isaiah developed dependence on this King and for all his earthly needs started looking to this person for all since he helped him. The Bible says in Psa 118:8 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. In Psa 118:9 It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes. And in Psa 40:4 Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods. King David says in Psa 20:7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. In Psa 20:8 They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. But when the king Uzziah died, now, he has to look to God who is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords for meeting each and every thing he needs. When he looked to God for help he could understand the greatness of God by that heavenly vision God gave to him. If you and I need to have similar visions of God and hear the voice of God, I believe our dependence or trust must be on God only. Not on any human being. So, Isaiah could see, hear and respond to God only after the death of the King. As long as he saw the earthly king he could not see the heavenly king of kings. When we trust somebody else for our daily living we cannot totally put our trust on God. That is why bible says in Heb 11:6 "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him". After having a heavenly a vision and seen the glory of God he understood the sinful state of his life and cried to God about his unworthiness. So, God touched him and cleansed him. God will never reject a person simply because of his sin. Whomever come to Him he will not reject. In Mat 5:8 blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.

Hearing the voice of God

After being cleansed by the help of God, he could now hear the voice of God (the heart cry or soul burden of God). In Isa 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" But if you and I need to have similar visions of God and hear the voice of God, For this, I believe a holy life we must have with the help of our God.

Commitment to the service of God:

God did not compel him to do His work. It is Isaiah who yielded to the will of God and said unto the Lord in Isa. 6:8 "Here am I. Send me!" The Bible says in Isa 53:11 "after the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life and be satisfied". When he understood the need and the will of the Lord, he immediately and rightly respond to the Lord.

Serving God In the New Testament:

Jesus Christ Commanded to all his disciples:

Our Lord Jesus Christ has given us a great commission that is also saying the same as Isa. 6:8. In Mat 28:18 - 20 Jesus said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore (1.) go and (2.) make disciples of all nations, (3.) baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and (4.) teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Here it is not an option but a commandment to all the disciples of Jesus Christ.

Apostle Paul

That is why Apostle Paul says in 1 Cor 9:16 & 17 yet when I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, for I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!! If I preach voluntarily, I have a reward; if not voluntarily, I am simply discharging the trust committed to me.

May the Lord help each one of us to obey his final commandment.
