Forgiveness

Why should we need the forgiveness from all our sin?

The Bible is clearly explaining about the origin of Sin in the world. And it also reveals the sinful nature of the man from the beginning. Apostle Paul says in Rom 3:10 to 12; "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one." Also in Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Apostle John says in 1 John 1:8 "If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us". And in 1 John 1:10 "If we claim we have not sinned, we make him (God) out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives. Many religious people believe that their good works will help them to overcome the sin they have committed. Some even believe by punishing their own body by regular fasting or by so many other activities like Penance they can obtain their own salvation. But the Bible very clearly says in Eph 2:8 for it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God. And in Eph 2:9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

The Need for the Salvation (the forgiveness of our sin)

The King David said in Psa 32:1 Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. In Psa 32:2 Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit. Now, many are having these questions in their minds. "How to get forgiveness from all our past sins we have committed? Only by the Lord Jesus and his blood. The Bible says in Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Nowadays, Many are having a great fear about their own future and death? There is no peace of mind in their daily life. Why all these? Is it possible to get a deliverance from Sin? Who can deliver us from this sinful nature? In John 8:36 So if the Son (Jesus Christ) sets you free, you will be free indeed. 1 Cor 15:22 "For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive." The bible says in Rom 6:23 When someone sins, he earns what sin pays death. But God gives us a free gift life forever in Christ Jesus our Lord. So it says in 2 Cor 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

Can a victorious life possible in Christ Jesus? Apostle Paul says in Rom 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him (Jesus Christ) who loved us. Rom 8:38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, Rom 8:39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. And in 2 Cor 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! The Bible says in 1 John 5:4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. And in 1 John 5:5 Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

How to get the forgiveness of our sin?

  1. To get the forgiveness from God for our past sins we have to repent for all our sinful ways. (Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,).
  2. Then come to Jesus (In Mathe. 11:28 Jesus said "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.) Since no body else can help us. ("’ Acts 4:12 Jesus is the only One who can save people. His name is the only power in the world that has been given to save people. And we must be saved through him!").
  3. Confess all your sins unto Jesus. (1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. And in Prov 28:13 He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy). In Rom 10:10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

  4. The blood of Jesus Purifies us (1 John 1:7 …the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. In Rom 3:25 God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished

  5. Our Faith on Jesus help us to get the eternal life. (John 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. In John 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, and in John 1:12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.) In Rom 3:26 And God gave Jesus to show today that God does what is right. God did this so that he could judge rightly and also make right any person who has faith in Jesus.
  6. Renounce Sinful ways by the help of our Lord who loves us. (Prov. 28:13 If you hide your sins, you will not succeed. If you confess and reject them, you will receive mercy. (…renounces all sin to find mercy). And in Gal 5:24 "Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. And in 2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! ).

  7. Obey Jesus and the word of God in your daily life for the eternal salvation. (Heb 5:9 and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him. (Mat 3:8 "Produce fruit in keeping with repentance"). In Eph 2:1 "In the past your spiritual lives were dead because of your sins and the things you did wrong against God". In Eph 2:2 "Yes, in the past you lived the way the world lives. You followed the ruler of the evil powers that are above the earth. That same (evil) spirit is now working in those who refuse to obey God". In Eph 2:3 "In the past all of us lived like them. We lived trying to please our sinful selves. We did all the things our bodies and minds wanted. We should have suffered God's anger because of the way we were. We were the same as all other people". In Acts 5:32 …The Holy Spirit also proves that these things are true. God has given the Holy Spirit to all who obey him."
