Gen 21:14-19 Gen 21:14 Early the next morning Abraham
took some food and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar. He set
them on her shoulders and then sent her off with the boy. She went
on her way and wandered in the desert of Beersheba. Gen 21:15 When
the water in the skin was gone, she put the boy under one of the
bushes. Gen 21:16 Then she went off and sat down nearby, about a
bowshot away, for she thought, "I cannot watch the boy die." And
as she sat there nearby, she began to sob. Gen. 21:17 God heard
the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven
and said to her, "What is the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid; God
has heard the boy crying as he lies there. Gen 21:18 Lift the boy
up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation."
Gen 21:19 Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water.
So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.

| 2 Ki 4:8 - 10 One day Elisha went to Shunem. And a well-to-do woman
was there, who urged him to stay for a meal. So whenever he came by,
he stopped there to eat. She said to her husband, "I know that this
man who often comes our way is a holy man of God. Let's make a small
room on the roof and put in it a bed and a table, a chair and a lamp
for him. Then he can stay there whenever he comes to us." |

| "The Woman for an Emergency," Est 4:14 - 16 For if you remain silent
at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from
another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who
knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as
this?" Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: "Go, gather together
all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink
for three days, night or day. I and my maids will fast as you do.
When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against
the law. And if I perish, I perish." |

| Mat 15:22 - 28 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him,
crying out, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is
suffering terribly from demon-possession." Jesus did not answer a
word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, "Send her away,
for she keeps crying out after us." He answered, "I was sent only
to the lost sheep of Israel." The woman came and knelt before him.
"Lord, help me!" she said. He replied, "It is not right to take the
children's bread and toss it to their dogs." "Yes, Lord," she said,
"but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table."
Then Jesus answered, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is
granted." And her daughter was healed from that very hour. |

named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah;
his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. Luke 1:24 After
this his wife Elizabeth became pregnant and for five months remained
in seclusion. Luke 1:36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to
have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is

mother of my Lord should come to me? Luke 1:57 When it was time
for Elizabeth to have her baby, she gave birth to a son.

| Luke 1:30 - 38 But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary,
you have found favor with God. You will be with child and give birth
to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. He will be great
and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give
him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over the house
of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end." "How will this be,"
Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin?" The angel answered, "The
Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will
overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son
of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her
old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month.
For nothing is impossible with God." "I am the Lord's servant," Mary
answered. "May it be to me as you have said." Then the angel left
her. |

| Mat 26:7 – 13 a woman came to him with an alabaster
jar of very expensive perfume, which she poured on his head as he
was reclining at the table. When the disciples saw this, they were
indignant. "Why this waste?" they asked. "This perfume could have
been sold at a high price and the money given to the poor." Aware
of this, Jesus said to them, "Why are you bothering this woman? She
has done a beautiful thing to me. The poor you will always have with
you, but you will not always have me. When she poured this perfume
on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial. I tell you the truth,
wherever this gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has
done will also be told, in memory of her." |
