Let us flee from all these to make the devil flee from us

Dear brothers and sisters,   Loving greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. There are few things we must be taking real efforts in life to flee from them because that will easily come around and entangle us that we may fall as a victim to them as in Heb 12:1 & 2, “Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance, and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, vs.2, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith,” Let us note all these six things to which we must flee from and get the boldness to resist the devil and make him flee from us.  

1. We have to flee from the coming wrath of God so that we may not perish as in Mat 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, "You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Also in Luke 3:7, “He therefore began saying to the multitudes who were going out to be baptized by him, "You brood of vipers, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? How we can flee from the wrath of God? By truly repenting for our sin and take water baptism for the remission of your sin as in Acts 2:38, “Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Our Lord Jesus Christ himself told this in Mark 16:16, “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.”

 

1. Do not stop working for God at any situation if there is lot of problems and persecutions and they command you to stop the work move to another place but do not stop the ministry until the lord comes as in Mat 10:23, “When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another . I tell you the truth, you will not finish going through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.”

 

•  1 Cor 6:18 Flee immorality . Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body. (1 Cor 6:18 Flee from sexual immorality.)- [ 1 Cor 5:9 to 11 , ‘I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people--1 Cor 5:10 not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 1 Cor 5:11 But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat. Also in Heb 12:16 See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son. Heb 13:4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.]

 

1. 1 Cor 10:14 Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry . Idle worshipers will have different curses in their lives. – [in Deu 4:16 to 19 , “so that you do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman, vs17 or like any animal on earth or any bird that flies in the air, vs18 or like any creature that moves along the ground or any fish in the waters below. vs:19 And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars--all the heavenly array--do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the LORD your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.” Deu 4:25 & 26, “After you have had children and grandchildren and have lived in the land a long time--if you then become corrupt and make any kind of idol, doing evil in the eyes of the LORD your God and provoking him to anger, vs.26 I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you this day that you will quickly perish from the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess. You will not live there long but will certainly be destroyed.]

     •  2 Tim 2:22 Now flee from youthful lusts , and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. – [ Rom 1:26 & 27 , Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. Vs.27, In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Prov. 6:25 & 26, “ Do not lust in your heart after her beauty or let her captivate you with her eyes, vs.26 for the prostitute reduces you to a loaf of bread, and the adulteress preys upon your very life. 1 Th 4:4 & 5 , “that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, vs.5, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God;]  

1. 1 Tim 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs. 1 Tim 6:11 But you, man of God, flee from all this , and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. – [Heb 13:5 & 6, “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." Vs.6, So we say with confidence, "The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?"]

 

1. When we flee from all those above said six things we can totally submit ourselves to the will of God easily then it will be easy for us to resist the devil and it will help us to resist the devil with boldness of heart and make him run for his life as in James 4:7, “ Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he (Satan) will flee from you .

 

May the lord help each one of us to make the devil run for his life by carefully fleeing from all the six listed things. When we do that we will really make the devil flee from us so that we will be totally belong to Christ.
