God will establish you firmly in life

Central Thought: God can establish us firmly if He is with us in our lives.

Today's Scripture: 2 Chr 1:1, “Solomon son of David established himself firmly over his kingdom, for the LORD his God was with him and made him exceedingly great.”

Dear brothers and sisters,

Loving greetings to you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Every one on this earth likes to get established in life at any cost. Every one on this earth longs to have a success in life. The bible says very clearly this will be possible when we try to walk with the lord Jesus Christ in our lives. Here, we see even in the young age King Solomon could manage every thing very well, not because of his experience but because of the wisdom what God has given him. That wisdom what God has given helped him to get established firmly as a successful king of Israel . The bible says since the Lord almighty was with him and made him to do every thing exceedingly in a great manner.

We see in the life of Joseph also, he got similar prosperity and success through the Lord even in a very unfavorable situation, which was against him. If we observe carefully in the life of Joseph there were so many things that went against him that he may not get established in life. First of all , He could not get the friendship and the good will of his own brothers in the family. (Gen 37:8; Gen 37:11 His brothers were jealous of him,) Secondly , They sold him as a slave to the unknown kingdom so that he will become a slave and lose the privilege of working as per his own free will. The slaves can never come up on their own efforts in life because the brothers of Joseph hated all his visions and dreams. This was the reason they sold him as a slave, so that it may not come to pass.

But the bible says in spite of all the adverse conditions he faced in the strange place called Egypt he walked with the lord. He prospered in life even in an unknown land because God was with him as in Gen 39:2, “The LORD was with Joseph and he prospered” Do you want to prosper in life? The same God is alive with all His power since He is the same yesterday, today and forever. When the Lord is with us the place where you may be working can notice that very easily as in Gen 39:3 & 4, “When his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did, Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned.” It is God's will that you must become a head not a tail wherever you are. That is why, the Master of Joseph put him in charge of his house, God almighty just for the sake of his child started blessing even a strange Idol worshiper as in Gen 39:5, “From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the LORD blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph . The blessing of the LORD was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field.” God did this with one purpose so that every thing will come under the control of His child Joseph as in Gen 39:6, “So he left in Joseph's care everything he had; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate.”

When we grow in success the Devil will try to test us and prove that we are not faithful to God. The same he did to Joseph through the Potiphar's wife. But since Joseph feared the lord more and walked with Him consistently, even in all these tests he could pass without damaging his spiritual life by not yielding to the tempting sin. He endured the suffering with patience in the Jail since the lord was with him even at the time of his test. There also he prospered and became in charge of all others. From there, from the most pitiable condition that is a slave in the jail with a false immoral sin record, God took him to the top most post in Egypt next to the Pharaoh (the king) Until he died no one could challenge his position because the Lord was with him.

 Do you walk with the lord that close that he may lift you up and establish you firmly in life? Why not we make up our mind to follow the lord as per the word of God. This is what Jesus taught His disciples in John 15:7, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.”

What can we learn from this story?

On our own strength and talents without the living God's help we cannot get established in life. So, we must live a sinless life through the help of lord Jesus Christ and try to walk with God in our lives to get established firmly.

 Devotional Prayer: Lord help me, to walk with you all the days of my life without any sin. Let my life be guided by your Holy Spirit and that it may be pleasing to you. As I have seen in this message I commit myself to be with you all the days of my life. So take full control of my life I ask this in Jesus name. Amen.
