Luke 3:9, “The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire."

Dear brothers and sisters,

Loving greetings in the name of our lord Jesus Christ. Today let us see about the importance of producing the good fruits for the glory of the lord in this world. We must give fruits for the lord otherwise we will be cut down by Him as in John 15:2, “He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.”

The Lord Jesus himself taught his disciples how to bear fruits in their lives.
1. The only way they can bear fruits is by remain in the fellowship of the lord Jesus Christ as in John 15:4 & 5; “Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. Vs.5, "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
2. To remain in Jesus means to remain as per the word of God as in John 15:7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.

Why bearing fruits in our lives are very important?
1. Jesus Christ our Lord and master said that when we bear much fruit we will glorify God the Father and will remain as the disciples of Jesus as in John 15:8, ‘This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”

2. John the Baptist explains to us “How to give fruits for the glory of the Lord? Since in those days similar question was asked by different people to him as in Luke 3:10 "What should we do then?" the crowd asked. (Three types of people)
• John the Baptist answered them saying basically let every one be a giver through out their earthly life as in Luke 3:11, “John answered, "The man with two tunics should share with him who has none, and the one who has food should do the same."
• Those who work in the Government service came and asked similar question what we must do as in Luke 3:12 Tax collectors also came to be baptized. "Teacher," they asked, "what should we do?" John the Baptist answered them not to collect more than required to collect from each person as in Luke 3:13, "Don't collect any more than you are required to," he told them.”
• People in the army of the king asked John the Baptist similar question as in Luke 3:14, Then some soldiers asked him, "And what should we do?" He replied, "Don't extort money and don't accuse people falsely--be content with your pay."

In short in order to bear fruits for the glory of God every one should be willing to change their usual life style. That is why the bible says if any one is in Christ Jesus he or she is a new creation and all the old things have gone away and every thing become new as in 2 Cor.5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”

May the lord help each one of us to bear fruits for the glory of God in our lives. Amen
