Psa 60:1 For the director of music. To the tune of "The Lily of the Covenant." A miktam of David. For teaching. When he fought Aram Naharaim and Aram Zobah, and when Joab returned and struck down twelve thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt. You have rejected us, O God, and burst forth upon us; you have been angry--now restore us!

Psa 60:2 You have shaken the land and torn it open; mend its fractures, for it is quaking.

Psa 60:3 You have shown your people desperate times; you have given us wine that makes us stagger.

Psa 60:4 But for those who fear you, you have raised a banner to be unfurled against the bow. Selah

Psa 60:5  Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered.

Psa 60:9  Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom?

Psa 60:10  Is it not you, O God, you who have rejected us and no longer go out with our armies?

Psa 60:11  Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless.

3.    “Today’s Rhema” {The message}

Luke 2:52 And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

Dear brothers and sisters,

Loving Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Today let us see about the areas in which we need growth in our earthly life.  For all of us the Lord Jesus Christ is a perfect role model to follow.  When he was in this world whatever he did and taught are written for us to follow in this world.  The bible says here in Luke 2:52 And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.  So let us also pray daily to God that we may also grow in all these four areas in our earthly life.

First of all our Lord grew in wisdom – To grow in wisdom we have to fear God and also ask God for wisdom that is the reason our Lord Jesus spend more time in praying to God to live his earthly life daily.

Secondly our Lord grew in stature, - To grow in height, physique and in importance is needed in these days.  Jesus grew in that also by the grace of God.  God can give us a pleasing personality and good physique or form that we may live happily in these days.

Thirdly our Lord grew in having favour with God. – To grow in our relationship with the heavenly Father as Jesus grew in the favour of God the Father.  For this we have to do the will of God the Father.

Fourthly our Lord grew in having favour with men. – The bible says if a man’s ways are pleasing to God He will make even his enemies to dwell with him in peace.  So we must grow in developing our relationship with all men since we are commanded to have a peaceful relationship with all.  In (Acts 2:47 NIV) praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

May the Lord help each one of us to have all these growths in our earthly life.  Amen.

4.      For Further Bible Study

(Mat 20:20 NIV)  Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Jesus with her sons and, kneeling down, asked a favor of him.

(Luke 1:25 NIV)  "The Lord has done this for me," she said. "In these days he has shown his favor and taken away my disgrace among the people."

(Luke 1:30 NIV)  But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.

(Luke 2:14 NIV)  "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

(Luke 4:19 NIV)  to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."

(John 5:32 NIV)  There is another who testifies in my favor, and I know that his testimony about me is valid.

(2 Cor 1:11 NIV)  as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many.

(2 Cor 6:2 NIV)  For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation.

(Eph 6:6 NIV)  Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.

(Col 3:22 NIV)  Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything; and do it, not only when their eye is on you and to win their favor, but with sincerity of heart and reverence for the Lord.

(Phile 1:14 NIV)  But I did not want to do anything without your consent, so that any favor you do will be spontaneous and not forced.

(Rev 2:6 NIV)  But you have this in your favor: You hate the practices of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate.

Cameroon

1 Fast growth of Evangelicals in the 1990s through newer churches, Cameroonian missionaries and major evangelistic efforts

2 Many significant leaders in the professions, army, police and politics have been converted

3 Freedom for private Christian radio and television broadcasting, granted in 2000

Challenges for Prayer

1 Some claim Cameroon is the most corrupt nation on earth

a) True Christians of integrity may be raised up to lead the nation and make the radical reforms needed

b) There may be freedom for a national consultation that paves the way for a new era for the country

c) The Lord might raise up committed and God-fearing Christian leaders to play key roles in national decision making

2 The spiritual poverty of the churches is the country’s greatest tragedy

3 There is a need for godly leaders well trained in the Scriptures

4 Newer evangelical churches have grown rapidly in the last 20 years after a late start due to the hostility of older churches

a) Greater spiritual unity and cooperation between charismatic and non-charismatic groups

b) More effective discipling of those evangelized

5 Signs of hope to cover in prayer:

a) Greater evangelical cooperation to reach the unconverted

b) The growing involvement of Cameroonians in cross-cultural missions

6 Bible translation for Cameroon’s 279 languages is an overwhelming task

a) Existing translation and literacy projects

b) Surveys which are needed for a further 126 languages without the Scriptures

c) The indigenous Cameroon Association for Bible Translation and Literacy

d) The calling of more indigenous and expatriate workers for translation, literacy and support work

7 Young people are adversely affected by the national malaise

a) Effective Christian discipling in churches and by youth and children’s agencies

b) The ministry of SU in schools and GBEEC(IFES)

8 Less reached peoples — a national survey in this complex nation is an urgent need

a) Muslims — a majority in 8 peoples and a significant minority in most northern peoples

b) The many peoples of the Mandara mountains, 30% Muslim but mostly fetishist

c) The northern plains peoples — Giziga, Mofu, Kapsiki, Gude and Gidar among whom several missionaries and churches are at work

d) The Pygmies have long been neglected in the southeastern forests

9 The missionary force. Pioneer missionaries are needed to reach the Muslims and northern pagan peoples, and for Bible translation ministry

10 Support ministries

a) Christian literature is a major need

b) Christian radio programmes may be aired on local and private stations; but few workers have the skills or equipment to prepare quality material

c) The JESUS film has become a major evangelistic tool

d) EHC launched a nation-wide literature distribution in 1996

e) The Swiss-based Helimission operates a helicopter service for Christian ministries
