Today's Rhema
Lev 26:2, “'Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD.”

Dear brothers and sisters,

Loving greetings in the name of our Lord. Today let us see about the importance of observing the day of the lord each week and respect the church the body of our lord Jesus Christ. The bible says that God himself after creating every thing in this world took one day off from his work on the seventh day and rested on that day and made it holy. We are all basically made in the image of God so we must also need some rest. So, we must say that it is needed to seek the face of the lord one day out of each week as in Gen 2:2 & 3, “By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Vs.3, And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.” There are two things we see at this point, first one is about the one day out of the seven days is for the total rest and it must be spent with God. Secondly, the place in which the temple of God is present to that place we must go and honor and worship the lord there.

In the Old Testament God through the prophet Isaiah gave the command again very clearly to observe the Lord’s Day as in Isa 58: 13
1. Isa 58:13 "If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath
2. And from doing as you please on my holy day,
3. If you call the Sabbath a delight
4. And the Lord's holy day honorable,
5. And if you honor it by not going your own way
6. And not doing as you please or speaking idle words,

And the lord has given clear-cut promises for those who observe them as in Isa.58:14:
1. Isa 58:14, ‘then you will find your joy in the LORD,
2. And I will cause you to ride on the heights of the land
3. And to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob." The mouth of the LORD has spoken.

In the New Testament also the day of the Lord was observed following the resurrection of the Lord on the first day of the week Mat 28:1, “After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. The apostle had meetings regularly on the first day of the week as in Acts 20:7, “On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight.” It was a routine worship gathering so apostle Paul asks for a regular system of giving to God on that day as in 1 Cor 16:2, “On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.” Apostle John though he was all alone still he could have spiritual fellowship with God on the day of the Lord as in Rev 1:10, “On the Lord's Day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,” So let us not neglect the day of the Lord and gather together to worship the Lord as in Heb 10:25, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

May the lord help each one of us to observe the day of the Lord by giving to God one day out of all the seven days and worship the Lord sincerely and get all His blessings in our lives. Amen.

Today's Prayer

Republic of Finland - May 7

Answers to Prayer
1 The collapse of Communism in the USSR gave unprecedented opportunities to Finns for evangelism and for the encouragement of Christians in Estonia (their ethnic cousins) and Russia
Challenges for Prayer
1 Secular humanism has a strong influence with its attendant negative attitudes — two-thirds of Finns see life as gloomy and devoid of hope, and 5 out of 6 believe that the ordinary person’s lot is continually declining
2 The Lutheran Church is much more evangelical than most national churches in Europe — partly a heritage of the revival movements of the past that have influenced its spirituality
3 The Free Churches, both Pentecostal and non-Pentecostal, are relatively small but spiritually vigorous and growing
4 A new paradigm for the Church is required if it is truly to grow in Finland
a) The many rootless believers who “church-hop” and lack any real commitment to a fellowship
b) The widespread growth of house groups
c) The development of a national Christian vision and strategy
5 Young people's ministries have great potential
6 A vision for missions is not growing as it should
7 Less reached peoples
