Dear brothers and sisters,
Loving greetings in Jesus name. Today let us
see about some of the bad things which can ruin the Church of
God. As the bible says it is God who is building His church as
in Mat 16:18, “I will build my church, and the gates of
Hades will not overcome it.” But we must do our part without
fail as per the guidelines given in the word of God so no one
can lay anther foundation. But Satan has brought so many divisions
and groupisms to stop the growth of the church. The church of
God must be spiritual and the people those who are in it must
be spiritual in nature. But Satan made every thing worldly by
bringing the nature of the worldliness inside the church. There
is no growth in the church since all remain like an infant in
nature without a growth.
What is worldliness or the infant’s nature?
According to Apostle Paul: there are three infant natures are
given.
• First of all, when we feel jealous of one another we are
like infants and worldly in nature as in 1 Cor 3:3, “For
since there is jealousy in you.
• Secondly, when we start fighting with one another we are
worldly as in 1 Cor 3:3, “You are still worldly. For since
there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly?
Are you not acting like mere men?”
• Thirdly, when we have favoritism and have our own groups
we are worldly and act like an infant as in 1 Cor.3:4 to 6, “For
when one says, "I follow Paul," and another, "I
follow Apollos," are you not mere men? Vs.5, What, after
all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom
you came to believe--as the Lord has assigned to each his task.
Vs.6, “I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made
it grow.”
Who makes every thing in the kingdom of God or in the church
to grow in a spiritual manner?
It is God who can make every thing grow in the proper manner as
in 1 Cor 3:7, “So neither he who plants nor he who waters
is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.”
What about all the workers of God?
They are all equal in the site of God and they all called fellow
workers in the field of God and they all will receive the reward
from God as per their work as in 1 Cor 3:8 & 9, “The
man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each
will be rewarded according to his own labor. Vs.9, For we are
God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building.”
Each worker of God may have a part to play but God assigns the
task. Each worker must be very careful how they work for the lord
as in 1 Cor 3:10, “By the grace God has given me, I laid
a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building
on it. But each one should be careful how he builds.”
We can use different materials to build the work of God? As in
1 Cor 3:12, “If any man builds on this foundation using
(1), gold, (2.), silver, (3.), costly stones, (4.), wood, (5.),
hay or straw,” Apostle Paul says each work will go through
a test of fire as in 1 Cor 3:13, “his work will be shown
for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will
be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each
man's work.”
To get our reward we must pass the test of fire as in 1 Cor 3:14,
“If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward.”
If we cannot save his work only he will be saved as in 1 Cor 3:15,
“If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will
be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.”
May the lord help each one of us to follow Him and carefully
build the church of God on the given foundation Jesus Christ to
get qualified to get the reward. Amen.
