Psa. 28:6, “Praise be to the LORD, for he has heard my cry for mercy.”

Dear brothers and sisters,

Loving greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today let us learn something about how God hears our prayers and the cry what we make when we are unable to bear any thing in our lives. Let us see some basic characteristics of our God in helping His people especially when they are in a helpless condition.

Our God is God of compassion so when we cry to him in a desperate situation He listens and answer to us immediately as He did to David. When the people of Israelites cried the Lord answered to their cry and send Moses as an answer to release them from the hands of Pharaoh. So today also the same God is alive to hear our cry and all our supplications.

He is a merciful God, so He will not allow his children to be tormented for long time in the hands of Satan or under any men. If we look Job he suffered from disease, lost all the children and wealth still God heard his cry and released him from all the troubles and blessed him doubly. Even in such a pain he pleaded for his friends God was so pleased with him and blessed Job doubly, so our prayers and supplications before our God will not be a vain.

God will lift you up and raise you from your humble beginning. Most of the psalms were written by King David, and he was an ordinary shepherded boy but God called him and anointed him to be the king of the Israelites. Right from the day he was anointed he was going through problems. He had no guaranty for his life. Because King Saul was haunting for his life. But God raised him from all his problems and delivered him and made him to the king of His people.

David was a man of God he trusted God and he depended on God for everything and he said so as in Psa 23 4 & 5, “though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Here in the above verse he is thanking and praising God for he heard his cry, our God is a prayer answering God as in Psa 65:2, O you who hear prayer, to you all men will come. So it is our responsibility to love our God because he hears our cry as in Psa 116: 1 I love the Lord, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Let us give thanks and praise to such a God who hears our cry like the psalmist as he had set a good example for us as in Psa 28:6 Praise be to the LORD, for he has heard my cry for mercy.

May the Lord bless each one of us and enable us to thank him in all the situations because He is a prayer answering God who listens and attentive to all our problems. Amen.
