Today's Rhema
Acts 16:9, “During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, "Come over to Macedonia and help us."

Dear brothers and sisters,

Loving greetings to Jesus in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Today let us see something about getting the direction of God what He gives to His children through the Holy Spirit. We are so privileged to serve a living God who watches over us and directs us in the paths of righteousness. God speaks to us through the Holy Spirit in these last days as He has promised to us as in Joel 2:28, 'And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.”

Here we see Apostle Paul getting a vision and direction to start a new ministry in a new area as in Acts 16:9, “During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, "Come over to Macedonia and help us." Immediately he decides to go and help them in Macedonia since He though that is the leading of God as in Acts 16:10 After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them.” Friends in our lives also we can get the direction of the lord clearly like this.

After going to the place he started the ministry in the city in a new way after staying there several days as in Acts 16:12, “From there we traveled to Philippi, a Roman colony and the leading city of that district of Macedonia. And we stayed there several days.” Apostle Paul went to the river side to find a place of prayer on the Sabbath day. He found some women there and started to speak to them about the lord in faith as in Acts 16:13, “On the Sabbath we went outside the city gate to the river, where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to the women who had gathered there.” When we start doing some ministry by witnessing for the glory of God then God will do His part to honor our efforts.

There God helped him to find a very deserving woman called Lydia and the lord honoring the efforts of Apostle Paul by opening up the hearts of her to the word of God as in Acts 16:14, “One of those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul's message.” Let us also understand this fact clearly that we cannot do any thing on our own strength unless the lord helps us to reach some people in a city. When God opened her heart to understand the word of God she took baptism. Then she invited Apostle Paul to stay with them as in Acts 16:15, “When she and the members of her household were baptized, she invited us to her home.”If you consider me a believer in the Lord," she said, "come and stay at my house." And she persuaded us.”

May the Lord bless each one of us today to get the directions from the lord and do something in this New Year 2006 for the glory of God. Amen.
