Acts 15:25 & 26, “So we all agreed to choose some men and send them to you with our dear friends Barnabas and Paul, men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Dear brothers and sisters,

Loving greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today let us see about the importance of giving our whole hearted cooperation with all we have giving our full strength and mind in serving the lord Jesus Christ. When we love God, the bible says we must love him with all our heart, mind and soul as in Mat 22:37, “Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with your entire mind.'

Apostle Paul and Barnabas had such a good reputation among the early church believers that they gave their full strength in serving God and took extreme risks to do the ministry for the lord as in Acts 15:25 & 26. in the Old testament we read about the three brave men who have risked their life for the king David. Since the king longed to drink water from his own well in Jerusalem at the time of war they risked their life for a man as in 1 Chr. 11:17 to 19, “David longed for water and said, "Oh, that someone would get me a drink of water from the well near the gate of Bethlehem!" So the Three broke through the Philistine lines, drew water from the well near the gate of Bethlehem and carried it back to David. But he refused to drink it; instead, he poured it out before the LORD. “God forbid that I should do this!" he said. "Should I drink the blood of these men who went at the risk of their lives?" Because they risked their lives to bring it back, David would not drink it. Such were the exploits of the three mighty men.” The question today is there are people who can risk their life for the leaders of this world but who is ready to take risk for the lord Jesus Christ?

When we take extreme risks for the Gospel the disciples whom we are winning will also definitely follow the lord in the same way as we see in the life of Priscilla and Aquila following the foot steps of Paul as in Rom 16:3 to 5, “Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus. They risked their lives for me. Not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them. Greet also the church that meets at their house.”

Later apostle Paul talks about Epaphroditus who also took lot of risk for the lord as in Phil 2:25 to 30, “But I think it is necessary to send back to you Epaphroditus, my brother, fellow worker and fellow soldier, who is also your messenger, whom you sent to take care of my needs. he longs for all of you and is distressed because you heard he was ill. Indeed he was ill, and almost died. But God had mercy on him, and not on him only but also on me, to spare me sorrow upon sorrow. Therefore I am all the more eager to send him, so that when you see him again you may be glad and I may have less anxiety. Welcome him in the Lord with great joy, and honor men like him, because he almost died for the work of Christ, risking his life to make up for the help you could not give me.”

May the Lord bless each one of us today to put our heart and soul in serving the lord. Amen.
