Dear brothers and sisters,
Loving greetings iMat 11:7-30n the name of our
Lord Jesus Christ. Today let us see about the way in which God
selects people for the kingdom of the lord. We must try to understand
this truth that those who are called by God are many but out of
them God only selects few for the kingdom of God as in Mat 20:16,
“So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many
be called, but few chosen.” And here Jesus is thanking God
for revealing the things of God to the simple people of this world
and omitting the real wise people of this world and the learned
as in Mat 11:25 to 27, “At that time Jesus said, "I
praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have
hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them
to little children. Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure.
All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows
the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except
the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
What types of people are chosen by God from this
world?
1. 1 Cor 1:27 to 29, “But God chose the foolish things of
the world to shame the wise;
2. God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
3. 1 Cor 1:28 He chose the lowly things of this world
4. And the despised (unloved) things—
5. And the things that are not--to nullify the things that are,
Why God is selecting the insignificant things
of this world?
Because God is against the proud and boasting nature of the people
as in Prov 16:5, “The LORD detests all the proud of heart.
Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.”
• God is choosing the foolish things, weak things, the lowly
things the despised things and the things that are not from this
world so that no body will get a chance to boast in front of God
as in 1 Cor 1:29, “so that no one may boast before him.”
What is the main purpose of God in choosing us?
God has chosen us with a purpose that we may bear real fruit for
the kingdom of God as in John 15:16, “Ye have not chosen
me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go
and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that
whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give
it you.”
May the Lord help each one of us today to be
loyal to the God who has called us so that from the huge called
group we may be having the privilege of being in the selected
few people. Amen.
