Dear brothers and sisters,
Loving greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ. Today let us see and learn some thing very clearly about
the communicating ways of God to His children about the things
which are going to happen. God always speaks to both the sides
very clearly to the persons concerned to whom He is conveying
a message. Here, if we see in this passage, we read that God giving
a message to the Cornelius: saying, he has to send some people
and call one servant of God called Peter to receive the Holy spirit
as in Acts 10:5 & 6, “Now send men to Joppa to bring
back a man named Simon who is called Peter. He is staying with
Simon the tanner, whose house is by the sea."
In the same way as Cornelius saw the vision,
God gave similar vision to Peter and to convince make him get
ready mentally to work among the gentiles. Because, it is not
that easy for a Jewish person like Peter to go to another territory
to work among the gentiles. God has to convince him first, to
make him go there among the gentiles. Remember God is not creating
confusions any where. He always deals simultaneously in both the
sides and speaking through the Holy Spirit and giving clear detailed
visions with address of the person. So, while he was praying to
God, he got similar vision three times before the three persons
whom Cornelius send came in person to invite Peter for the spiritual
meetings in the house of Cornelius. The timing of God also very
much accurate as in Acts 10:9 to 16, “About noon the following
day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter
went up on the roof to pray. He became hungry and wanted something
to eat, and while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a
trance. He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet
being let down to earth by its four corners. It contained all
kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles of the earth
and birds of the air. Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter.
Kill and eat." "Surely not, Lord!" Peter replied.
"I have never eaten anything impure or unclean." The
voice spoke to him a second time, "Do not call anything impure
that God has made clean." This happened three times, and
immediately the sheet was taken back to heaven.
God will help us to understand the visions which
come through the Holy Spirit. Let us believe this, since all the
hidden secrets also belong to God as in Gen 40:8, “Then
Joseph said to them, "Do not interpretations belong to God?
Tell me your dreams." So we need not to worry about any vision
if it is really from God He will help us to understand that also.
Here God through the Holy Spirit telling to Peter, first of all
about the there men were looking for Simon so he must go down
to receive them then to listen to them and secondly he must go
along with them immediately as in Acts 10:17 to 20, “While
Peter was wondering about the meaning of the vision, the men sent
by Cornelius found out where Simon's house was and stopped at
the gate. They called out, asking if Simon who was known as Peter
was staying there. While Peter was still thinking about the vision,
the Spirit said to him, "Simon, three men are looking for
you. So get up and go downstairs. Do not hesitate to go with them,
for I have sent them."
Let me give one more illustration also for this
that our God communicate every thing properly so that His children
may not have any confusion. If we see about the conversion of
Paul in the 9th Chapter As the lord dealt with Paul on the Damascus
Road and told him clearly what to do and where to go as in Acts
9:6, "Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told
what you must do.". He immediately conveyed to the message
to the Prophet who has to come and pray for him in Acts 9:11,
“The Lord told him, "Go to the house of Judas on Straight
Street and ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying.”
Again He also told Paul in a vision who will come and pray for
him as in Acts 9:12, “In a vision he has seen a man named
Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight."
Friends, for any future decision when you take, do not take any
hasty decisions in confusion and when you are in affected by something
and when you go through and live in some emotional environment.
Because God always communicate to both the parties to avoid confusion.
Since he wants to lead His people into a glorious future and that
is only belongs to God. So let us not yield to any temptations
of Satan and use our brain and understanding and go far away from
the leading of the lord.
May the Lord help us today to get more visions and directions
from the Lord through the Holy Spirit so that we will not have
any confusion in our lives in this New Year and in our future.
