Today's Rhema
Gen 16:2, “so she said to Abram, "The LORD has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family through her." Abram agreed to what Sarai said.”

Dear brothers and sisters,

Loving greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today let us see about the importance of taking a fair decision as per the knowledge and understanding what God has given unto us. When we read about the story of Abraham right from the day God called him, He spoke to him many times about his own offspring what He will give to him.

First, God himself appeared to him and promised unto him the land as in Gen 12:7, “The LORD appeared to Abram and said, "To your offspring I will give this land." So he built an altar there to the LORD, who had appeared to him.”

Then secondly, God said to him after Lot departed from him that no one can count his offspring as in Gen 13:16, “I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted.”

Thirdly, God spoke to him when he asked God that he has to accept the Eliezer as his heir since he is not having his own child as in Gen 15:2 & 3, “But Abram said, "O Sovereign LORD, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?" And Abram said, "You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir." To this God immediately answered the son who is going to come from your own body will be the heir as in Gen 15:4, “Then the word of the LORD came to him: "This man will not be your heir, but a son coming from your own body will be your heir." To make him believe God took him out and made him to count the stars and said more than this I will bless your offspring as in Gen 15:5, “He took him outside and said, "Look up at the heavens and count the stars--if indeed you can count them." Then he said to him, "So shall your offspring be."

We cannot say now, his wife Sarai had that much direct contact with God and had the promise, vision and revelations of the lord to believe for a miracle and an offspring. Still in spite of all these direct revelations he had from God he ignored Him and listened to his wife. If Abraham would have believed God definitely he would have refused this proposal and convinced his wife and then waited little more for the time of God. Today because of this one mistake of Abraham more than one out five in this present world are his offspring through Ishmael and they are even today fighting with the Israelites the children of Isaac. Not only that, many scholars say that Abraham did not have any direct communication or the visit of God for nearly thirteen years because of this mistake of not being loyal to the revelation God gave him and choosing to listening to his wife rather than God in spite of all the confirmations God gave to him about the child.

Definitely when Christ comes as a Judge we will be judged as per our own understanding and the revelations we received from God. So we must be very faithful to the knowledge what we have received from God. When Adam listened to his wife and he ate the fruit and the same way when Abraham obeyed his wife he took Hagar and beget Ishmael. And if we also remain untruthful to the knowledge what God has given unto us we will also act in the same manner.

May the lord help us today to take a bold decision in the light of the word of God we know and remain faithful to God and the revelation we have received from him. The bible says the man is the head of the family so they cannot blame their wife before God for the fault. The psalmist says when a man walks as per the word of God his wife will bear fruits within his house as in Psa 128:1 & 2,. Amen.

Further Bible Study

(Mat 13:11 NIV) He replied, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.
(Luke 1:77 NIV) to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins,
(Luke 8:10 NIV) He said, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, "'though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.'
(Luke 11:52 NIV) "Woe to you experts in the law, because you have taken away the key to knowledge. You yourselves have not entered, and you have hindered those who were entering."
(Acts 5:2 NIV) With his wife's full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles' feet.
(Acts 18:24 NIV) Meanwhile a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was a learned man, with a thorough knowledge of the Scriptures.
(Rom 1:28 NIV) Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.

Today's Prayer

World

1 The unprecedented harvest being won in Africa, Asia and Latin America
Christianity has slightly declined as a percentage of the world’s population
2 The expansion of Evangelicals since 1960. They numbered 84.5 million (2.8%) in 1960, but in 2000 they were 420 million (6.9%)
3 The spread of Pentecostalism has been astonishing
4 The huge impact of the Charismatic movement on almost every denomination and megabloc
5 The strength and growth of the Church in lands that have, or have had, severe persecution
6 The manifest failure of human ideologies, which became more obvious in the 1980s and ‘90s
a) The collapse of Communism as a global threat, and the bankruptcy of atheism has caused significant turning to Christ in answer to prayer
b) Fundamentalist Islam has gained in political power and its ability to cause havoc in the world through subversion and sometimes terrorism, but has lost credibility in the minds of many Muslims
c) The Buddhist world has long proved a tough challenge with few major breakthroughs, but the rising tide of interest and concern for the Buddhist heartlands of Tibet and Mongolia is bearing fruit
7 The globalization of the world missions movement
a) The USA still remains the largest foreign missionary-sending nation, but South Korea has replaced the UK as the second
b) India’s missionary movement has grown enormously even as the foreign component has dwindled
8 The AD2000 and Beyond Movement launched in 1989 proved to be the most global, focused movement for world evangelization that there ever has been
a) The 10/40 Window focus was brilliantly successful
b) A great increase in research into the world’s peoples — at a global level in producing the Joshua Project List (JPL) of unreached peoples
c) The Joshua Project I was launched in 1995 to facilitate strategic planning, coordinated research and cooperative church planting during the remaining years of the 20th Century
d) A Church for every people — how far was the goal achieved
e) The gospel for every person. The Mark 16:15 version of the Great Commission exhorts preaching the gospel to every person
The sobering fact is that even with all this activity, probably 15-25% of the world’s population has not really heard the gospel in such a way as to respond to the offer of eternal salvation in Jesus Christ
