Exo 12:31, “During the night Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Up! Leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship the LORD as you have requested.”

Dear brothers and sisters,

Loving greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today let us try to understand about the great plan of God in delivering and moving his people Israel from the hands of pharaoh and the Egyptian bondage. God took them out to the promise land which flows with milk and honey as He has promised earlier as in Exo 3:17, “And I have promised to bring you up out of your misery in Egypt into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites--a land flowing with milk and honey.' Whatever God does for His people they are all planned and revealed to His people well in advance. For example, God promised his friend Abraham well in advance about the promise land that He will give to his descendents after they gone through a period of slavery in Egypt for four hundred years even before the birth of Isaac as in Gen 15:13 & 14, “Then the LORD said to him, "Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own, and they will be enslaved and mistreated four hundred years. But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions.”

Then God told His servant Moses also well in advance, when he called him to bring out the people of God from the slavery of Egypt that the Pharaoh will not allow the people unless he see the hand of God compels him to send them out as in Exo 3:19 & 20, “But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless a mighty hand compels him. So I will stretch out my hand and strike the Egyptians with all the wonders that I will perform among them. After that, he will let you go.” As the lord has promised every thing happened to the people of God. Pharaoh got angered with Moses and told him he should not come before him one more time as in Exo 10:28 & 29, “Pharaoh said to Moses, "Get out of my sight! Make sure you do not appear before me again! The day you see my face you will die." "Just as you say," Moses replied, "I will never appear before you again."

We must remember this truth because this is the pharaoh who has told to the servant of God Moses earlier that I will not send the people as in Exo 5:2, “Pharaoh said, "Who is the LORD, that I should obey him and let Israel go? I do not know the LORD and I will not let Israel go." But God dealt with that pharaoh in such a way that he himself came in the night and forced them to leave the place Egypt as in Exo 12:31, “During the night Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Up! Leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship the LORD as you have requested.” Earlier he was not willing to send them with all their flocks but now by seeing the hand of God he changed his mind and said take all your things and bless me also as in Exo 12:32, “Take your flocks and herds, as you have said, and go. And also bless me." The people who made them to work day and night ruthlessly now urged them to go our fearing they will all die if they keep the children of God in Egypt as in Exo 12:33, “The Egyptians urged the people to hurry and leave the country. "For otherwise," they said, "we will all die!" so they have to go immediately as the lord said earlier.

God is a God of justice. So, He made His people to ask and get all the wealth of Egyptians for whom they worked for four hundred years as slaves without any proper payment and rest as in Exo 12:36, “The LORD had made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and they gave them what they asked for; so they plundered the Egyptians.

May the Lord help each one of us to understand the great plans of God so that we may not murmur against Him in our lives but will be ready to fulfill the plans of God. Amen.
