God's Promise For January - 2001

The Four Conditions Given by God for getting God’s blessings:-

In this New Year 2001, let us examine the blessings of Abraham as he followed the Lord. Here we see four conditions given by God to Abraham in-order to inherit all the seven blessings that God wanted him to receive.

Gen 12:1 The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you.

(1.), "Leave your country, In those days leaving one’s own country was very dangerous and not very easy to do also but God told him to leave his country not to put him in to problem but to make him trust God and help him to grow more and more in the faith, finally he become the father of all believers. Any one who would have gone out his country will agree with me that there will be lot of challenges and new experiences which may demand new needs and treats but Abraham by listening to the voice of God left his country and developed a great dependence on God and ultimately he become a very close friend of God. Jesus also called as friends to know more about Him by spending more and more time with Him as in John 15:15 "I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.

(2.), "Leave your people. Leaving the country itself to many a great task but here God says leave your people also that means we will be working totally among new group of people who’s manners and customs may be different. Only a person who can love others can leave his people and go for God and to work among other group of people as the Lord enable him to go. In the book of Ruth 1:16 But Ruth replied, "Don't urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. That is why she got a great blessings from the Lord. In another words God is telling unto us be filled with the love of God to dwell among the strangers and do His work.

(3.), "Leave your father's household: To some leaving there own fathers house is very hard but unless we leave our earthly fathers house we cannot please the heavenly father. To do the will of God totally we have to leave the earthly fathers house and be ready to go to the place where God wants us to go also. One way we can do the will of God better when we are away from the earthly father and closer to the heavenly father. The bible says even for marriage reason as in Gen 2:24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." Also in Psa 45:10 Listen, O daughter, consider and give ear: Forget your people and your father's house. If for a marriage life they have to be away from their father and mother. Then if it is needed why not for the kingdom of God’s work?

(4.), "go to the land I will show you. Most of the Missionaries came from abroad and dwelt among us and helped us to learn their language and good culture and manners. Jesus Came from heaven and dwelt among us as in Phil 2:6 & 7, "Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness." My dear brothers and sisters if God calls you to go to a different land to promote the work of God will you go there?

When you fulfill all these four above conditions then all these seven blessings will be yours.

The Blessings God is willing to Give to each one of us who walks in the way of Abraham.

Gen 12:2 "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

Gen 12:3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

(1.), "I will make you into a great nation. The promise of God to those who left their country for the sake of the gospel and Christ is that you would have left the place all alone but God says I will make you a great nation. That means you will spread in every manner like the people of Israel and become a great multitude to be called a great nation. You will be fruitful and increase more than 100 fold. Believe it is the Lord who makes you great person and helps you to multiply.

(Gen 12:2 NIV) ""I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing."

(2.), "I will bless you. It is God who helps us to get good blessings. The bible talks about the blessings and the curses more than any other book in the world. It says around 610 times about this topic so it is important for us to know the will of God to get the real blessings. In (Deu 15:6 NIV) "For the LORD your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you."

(Gen 12:2 NIV) ""I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing."

(3.), "I will make your name great, In the last book God says for all those who overcomes, He is going to give a new name. In Phil 2:8 to 11, "And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death-- even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." The lord Jesus was exalted above all other name because of His obedience. The same way when we obey until death God is going to make us also very great.

(Gen 12:2 NIV) ""I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing."

(2 Sam 7:9 NIV) "I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name great, like the names of the greatest men of the earth."

You are not only blessed by God but become the source (channel) of blessing to others as well. Others can find you as a useful person or a blessed person to get good blessings.

(Lev 25:21 NIV) "I will send you such a blessing in the sixth year that the land will yield enough for three years."

(Deu 11:26 NIV) "See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse--"

(Deu 29:19 NIV) "When such a person hears the words of this oath, he invokes a blessing on himself and therefore thinks, "I will be safe, even though I persist in going my own way." This will bring disaster on the watered land as well as the dry."

(Neh 13:2 NIV) "because they had not met the Israelites with food and water but had hired Balaam to call a curse down on them. (Our God, however, turned the curse into a blessing.)"

(Prov 10:7 NIV) "The memory of the righteous will be a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot."

(Isa 19:24 NIV) "In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing on the earth."

(Isa 65:16 NIV) "Whoever invokes a blessing in the land will do so by the God of truth; he who takes an oath in the land will swear by the God of truth. For the past troubles will be forgotten and hidden from my eyes."

(Ezek 44:30 NIV) "The best of all the firstfruits and of all your special gifts will belong to the priests. You are to give them the first portion of your ground meal so that a blessing may rest on your household."

(Joel 2:14 NIV) "Who knows? He may turn and have pity and leave behind a blessing-- grain offerings and drink offerings for the LORD your God."

(Zec 8:13 NIV) "As you have been an object of cursing among the nations, O Judah and Israel, so will I save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid, but let your hands be strong.""

(1 Pet 3:9 NIV) "Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing."

(5.), "I will bless those who bless you, When people go against you or cannot love you they will learn they are not blessed. When people help you they will be blessed since they were kind to you. In Exo 1:19 to 21, "The midwives answered Pharaoh, "Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive. So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own."

(Gen 12:3 NIV) "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.""

(Gen 27:29 NIV) "May nations serve you and peoples bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may the sons of your mother bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed and those who bless you be blessed.""

(Num 24:9 NIV) "Like a lion they crouch and lie down, like a lioness--who dares to rouse them? "May those who bless you be blessed and those who curse you be cursed!""

(Gen 12:3 NIV) "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.""

(Mal 2:2 NIV) "If you do not listen, and if you do not set your heart to honor my name," says the LORD Almighty, "I will send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have already cursed them, because you have not set your heart to honor me."

(7.), "all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." There is no other name for salvation in the earth as in Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." Even today we say God of Abraham as in (Gen 12:3 NIV) "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."" Also in (Gen 28:14 NIV) "Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring." When Apostle Paul writes about it he said in (Gal 3:8 NIV) "The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: "All nations will be blessed through you.""

It is my prayer that you may get this seven blessings buy fulfilling all that four conditions and exalted by the Lord our God. You can write to us for sharing your blessings received from the Lord and if this message is useful to you.
