John 3:16 "For
God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but
have eternal life."
We must have a vision from
the Lord in order to do the mission work for Jesus Christ. Where there
is no vision there is no mission work also and where there is no mission
work there people perish with out Christ. Because how they will believe
if some one is not there to preach the gospel.
Who
gave us this Command to do this mission work?
It is our Lord Jesus Christ
who gave this command after His resurrection in Mat 28:18 to 20, Then
Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has
been given to me. Therefore (1.), go and (2.), make disciples
of all nations, (3.), baptizing them in the name of the Father
and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and (4.), teaching them
to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with
you always, to the very end of the age."
How
God enables us to do this great mission work in many parts of this present
earth?
Our Lord Jesus Christ
before going to the Father God in heaven gave this command to receive
the Holy Spirit in Acts 1:4&5, then he told in Acts 1:8 But you
will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be
my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the
ends of the earth."
How
the mission work started?
The mission work also started
by the Lord only. When the people received the anointing of the Holy
Spirit as Jesus Christ told the Spirit of God started leading them.
In Acts 8:29 to 31, The
Spirit told Philip, "Go to that chariot and stay near it. Then Philip
ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet.
"Do you understand what you are reading?" Philip asked. How can I,"
he said, "unless someone explains it to me?" So he invited Philip to
come up and sit with him.
It was the Lord who touched
the Paul in Acts 9:4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to
him, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? Then in Acts 9:6 "Now get
up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do." The
same Lord told Ananias in Acts 9:11 The Lord told him,
"Go to the house of Judas on Straight Street and ask for a man from
Tarsus named Saul, for he is praying.
Apostle Peter got the direction
by the Holy Spirit to go to the gentiles as in Acts 10:3; Acts 10:5
Now send men to Joppa to bring back a man named Simon who is called
Peter. Same Holy Spirit telling one person to send people to call Peter
the same Holy Spirit of God sending Peter by giving him a vision in
the day time and telling him to go with them. (no body goes without
a vision)
Again it was the God who
gave the church the command to send some of their leaders to the mission
work as in Acts 13:2 & 3, While they were worshiping the Lord and
fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for
the work to which I have called them." So after they had fasted and
prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.
Why
there is no movement for the missions in some people life and in some
churches?
They are not following the
last commandment of God as in Acts 1:4 &5, On one occasion, while
he was eating with them, he gave them this command: "Do not leave Jerusalem,
but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak
about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized
with the Holy Spirit" Unless some one gives room for the Holy spirit
in their life and allow the Lord to direct their life through the Holy
Spirit they can not do some missions. Infact the one who enables us
to do some mission work for God is the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ told
His Disciples in Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy
Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and
in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (No one will
simply sit when the spirit of God controls their life.)
Dear Friends let us do some
thing for God in this present generation that the gospel light may keep
spreading for the glory of God. Let us start building the Kingdom of
God. Let us not forget this fact when Christ comes as per our work only
He is going to honor us. In Rev 22:12 "Behold, I am coming soon! My
reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he
has done.
What
we can do now for Christ?
If we read and meditate
this passage which is in Mat 25:31 to 39 "When the Son of Man comes
in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne
in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and
he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates
the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his
right and the goats on his left. Then the King will say to those
on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance,
the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I
was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave
me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed
clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was
in prison and you came to visit me. Then the righteous will answer him,
'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give
you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you
in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in
prison and go to visit you? Mat 25:40 "The King will reply, 'I tell
you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers
of mine, you did for me.' If we read and meditate this passage which
is in Mat 25:41 to 46, "Then he will say to those on his left,
'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared
for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing
to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger
and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe
me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me. They also
will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger
or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you? He will
reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one
of the least of these, you did not do for me. Then they will
go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.
May the Lord help each one
of us to do our best in the days to come for the mission of Jesus Christ.
Yours in His service
